Reasons to Store at The Storage Barn

A few examples of reasons to store at The Storage Barn: Business/Commercial needs, a company that does not have a physical location but has inventory, tools, and equipment.

This applies to landscapers, roofers, painters, retail and eCommerce, restaurants and catering, and more.

Our residential customers come to us for dozens of reasons, including selling or staging a home or simply clearing the clutter in their home.

A family member may be moving in or out of college, preparing for the long-overdue home renovation, changes in relationship status, to make room for the car in the garage, you have to move out the lawn furniture and lawnmower, and you can just replace that with your snowblower when you are done within the winter.

The Storage Barn is always happy to be the keeper of your extra stuff.

Items People Commonly Store at The Storage Barn

There is all manner of things you might store in a self storage unit! Here are just some examples:

Furniture

Whether for home or office, storing furniture is an option if you are moving to a smaller space, selling property, trying to get rid of clutter, or making room for more family or bigger business.

Appliances

You may need a safe and secure place to put perfectly good and useful appliances that, for whatever reason, you may not be using right now.

Microwaves, ovens, fridges, stoves, washers, and dryers can all be properly stored with good packing practices.

Files, documents, and archives

Many businesses are legally required to hold on to archival data but could use the workspace.

Individuals also store important documents in small storage units for space, security, accessibility, or safekeeping.

Collectors’ items, antiques, and expensive art

There are occasions that call for storage of items of extreme value to you, whether an antique heirloom from the last five generations of your family or a piece of exotic art.

Storage, for people in different situations, might present an option of security not currently available to them in their homes or workplaces.

People on the move may need somewhere to put their valuables until they return or settle down.

For collectors, it might just be a more secure and organized alternative than keeping your collections at home.

Vehicle Storage

Boats, motorhomes, travel trailers, RVs, motorcycles, and cars.

You may need to store your car or vehicle if you are going on vacation or other long trips.

Or perhaps you have a car you want to keep but are not currently using or don’t have parking space.

Seasonal items

Christmas, Easter, Halloween only come once a year, but many families spend a great deal of money, time, and energy preparing for and enjoying these precious seasons.

When the season is over, self storage is one option to put away all those dear-to-your-heart seasonal items and holiday decorations that you can reuse year after year.

Photographs, Books, and Family Memories

Photographs hold memories dear to your heart.

So are keepsake magazines, like your childhood collections of a wildlife magazine or newspapers relevant to important research you have done.

All these things are perishable and need proper storage.

Please contact us if you have any additional questions about renting a unit.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?

Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials, and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.
